Marin MADE is now offering a 6 week artist residency available for local artists, designers, and fabricators interested in using studio space to work on independent projects. Graduate level students and trained professionals are both welcome to apply.

Artists residency includes access to studio space and all tools that applicant is qualified to use. Some assistance in complex fabrication from experienced fabricators will be provided.

The application deadline for residencies starting in 2019 will be December 1, 2018. Applications are accepted September – December 1, 2018.

Selection

Our advisory board, which is composed of former artists-in-residence, engineers, entrepreneurs, and educators, reviews applications in October and selects candidates to interview in December.

The board awards four residencies per year.

The board evaluates applications based on the how the residency can provide the artist with professional growth, the quality of the artist’s previous work, the ability of the artist to respond to the challenges that come with scavenging for materials, and the artist’s reputation and references. The board also considers the artist’s use of materials and the types of tools available in the studio.

Eligibility

At this time, we accept applications from local graduate level students, career-level and professional artists. We also do not accept applications from artists who reside a driving distance of more than one hour from Sausalito.
